Skin rash is a common term, which is used to describe spots, reddish eruptions on the skin, raised bumps or change in the texture or color of the skin. Rash is a change in the color and texture of the skin affecting the appearance of the skin causing irritation, diseases, etc.
Skin rashes are generally related to inflammation, itching, swelling, burning, etc. an individual sensitive to a particular drug or any kind of allergy are most likely to develop skin rashes. These skin rashes, sometimes, affect the whole body, while some affect particular areas on the body. Also, some rashes are contagious. Some rashes are short term, some recurrent or chronic. These rashes, if developed, interferes with one’s regular and sleeping activities.
The rashes are associated with everyone, since almost everyone, sometimes must have or will encounter skin rashes. These rashes do not spare even infants and kids. Diaper rash and cradle cap are associated with baby skin rash, whereas ringworm, chicken pox, etc. is associated with child skin rash. Other skin disorders like psoriasis, related to itchy skin rash is developed in adults, while acne, athlete’s foot, etc generally affect the teens. However, many skin rashes do not consider the age factor.

Causes
As there are many skin rashes, there are also lot many causes of skin rashes. However, the most common cause of skin rash is allergic reactions to food, medicines, etc. Whenever the skin encounters such allergens, disorders like acne, a facial skin rash type develops. Infestations, infections, illness, etc. are the other causes of skin rashes. However, the causes of psoriasis and eczema are still unknown.
Factors
There are many factors related to certain types of skin rashes. The general factors contributing to the skin disorder amongst most of the people are stress, auto-immune problems, genetic predisposition, hormonal changes, overexposure to the sun or heat, etc. causing red skin rash, dry skin rash, etc.
Prevention
Most of the skin rashes are not so dangerous and could be treated by immediate and proper medication. However, the best way to prevent your skin from texture and color change is to keep your skin healthy. This has to be done by following a regular healthy diet, regular exercises, keeping a clean and well-moisturized skin. Also, proper precautions against the heat, the sun and the harmful UV rays should also be taken.
