I can only have my period while on birth control. Has anyone had or know of this problem?

My husband and I are wanting to start trying for a baby, however I haven’t had a period in 6 months. I went to 2 different doctors and nobody seemed interested. They both prescribed birth control which makes me have periods, but as soon as I stop taking it my periods stop as well. Either way I can’t get pregnant. Any opinions?This can be an indication of a hormone imbalance such as with the thyroid (an example only).
I would recommend consulting with an endocrinologist (a doctor that diagnoses and treats diseases and disorders that relate to hormones such as with the thyroid) to see what they think could be going on.
